Administrative Review

Administrative review is available for most in-country visa refusals and certain entry clearance refusals where there is no right of appeal. The application must be made within 14 days of receiving the refusal (if you are in the UK) or 28 days (if you are outside the UK). Missing the deadline will result in the review being rejected, so it is important to act quickly.

An administrative review can only succeed if the original decision contained a caseworking error — for example, a mistake in applying the Immigration Rules, a failure to take into account relevant evidence, or an error in calculating whether requirements are met.
